Who am I (Gabe Kwakyi)?

Hi there! Thanks for coming by to learn more about me :)

A number of difficult events throughout my life taught me to channel the struggles I went through into self-reflection and self-discovery. I eventually saw that, what was at first only bad (stress, pain, and self-rejection) over time had become a motivation to support others who are also going through their own life questionings and struggles.

My own career transformation in becoming a coach is truly meaningful to me, as it enables me to directly support people who want to make their own transformations to live more peaceful, meaningful, and fulfilling lives.

I specialize in coaching people through burnout, Quarter-Life Crisis, career and new manager. Given my background, I mostly work with people in the business or tech fields, but I am able and enjoy helping everyone, regardless of their background.

I draw on a wealth of life and work experiences, including some of the following:

Life

  • Losing my mom to cancer at 26

  • Changing careers, from marketing to coaching

  • Navigating a work burnout and a Quarter-Life Crisis

  • Developing a daily practice of mindfulness, meditation, and yoga

  • Traveling the world as a digital nomad and living in different country (Germany)

  • Writing dozens of essays on topics spanning philosophy, coaching, mindfulness, & self-discovery

Career/Leadership

  • Training as a coach through the CoActive program

  • Interviewing / making hundreds of hiring decisions

  • Developing management organizations and managing teams of up to 40 as a CEO and director

  • Working for Microsoft (and being included in a future leadership program), a startup, an ad agency, and as a freelance consultant

  • Co-authoring a book & earning an influencer credential by authoring over 300 blog posts on mobile marketing / App Store Optimization

  • Co-founding a profitable marketing consultancy for 6 years that at peak earned $2 million/year in revenue, employed 21 people, and led marketing strategy for clients like Walmart, Canva, Coinbase, and Peloton

My personal values are

Freedom, creativity, curiosity/learning, growth, empathy, connection, family, enjoyment of life, appreciation, and balance.

My life purpose statement is

“To be a song that inspires appreciation of life and serves as a catalyst for meaningful growth in others.”

My life vision is

“To create and to share new ideas with the world. I am part dreamer, part creator, part connector, part facilitator, part experimenter, part marketer, and full human being.”

Coaching is one way in which I exercise my values, embody my life purpose metaphor and honor my life vision.

I also honor my life vision by writing about self-discovery/reflection/growth, volunteering at the Crisis Text Line, interviewing people from around the world in my passion project, People, Just Like You, and generally being an accessible, curious, and caring ear for friends, family and people I meet.

It’s never too late to start living your best life.

You’re just a conversation away from really living your ikigai / life potential, here and now.
